Types Of Parenting Styles And Their Influence On Development

Evaluate The Different Types Of Parenting Styles And Their Influence On Development During  Infancy And Early Childhood

Following are the different types of parenting styles and their effects on children development:

  • Authoritative: this kind of parenting style ensures the healthy development of children as they are taught to ask questions and ask questions while having their own opinions. This parenting style also benefits the social development as children are welcome to communicate (Moore, 2017).

  • Indulgent: Permissive or indulgent parenting style focuses more on being a friend of their children than the disciplinary figure. An extensive parent children communication amount, but very low demand and maturity level are required of the children. Children are likely to have better social skills and higher self-esteem who are raised under the indulgent parents (Moore, 2017).
  • Uninvolved: Ambivalent parents to the wants and needs of their children are considered the uninvolved parents. This parenting style is actually associated with abuse and neglect. Children do not have any rules to follow and parents do have effective communication with children, neither have they encouraged children. So this kind of parenting style negatively effects on early development of children (Moore, 2017).
